Topographic Surveys

What are Topographic Surveys?

A Topographic Survey is a survey that obtains data that represents the height of the ground along with other physical structures and improvements.  This data can show certain features of the property like ditches, hills, berms, paved roads, existing utility locations, buildings, overhead utility lines, trees, fences, etc...

Each shot taken by the Land Surveyor has information regarding the height of the ground which can be used to generate and identify contour lines on the map provided by the Land Surveyor.  Civil Engineers and Architects use this information for their design purposes and then at which point a piece of property can be developed into a new subdivision, restaurant, roads, shopping center, schools, churches, etc....
